The SEC recently passed new rules implementing provisions of the Dodd-Frank Law rewarding whistleblowers a bounty for providing first-hand information of corporations that violate SEC regulations. However, not surprisingly, corporate lobbyists have been trying, with gusto, to either gut the law or make it much more difficult for whistleblowers to be successful. According to an iWatch News article, corporations are fighting theses rules on many fronts including court actions and lobbying efforts with Congress.
