In a secret report issued by the Department of Defense Inspector General, NSA whistleblower, Thomas Drake was vindicated in his efforts to sound the alarm that the NSA was misspending millions of taxpayers dollars. His efforts resulted in the government trying to “kill the messenger” by targeting Drake as a criminal instead of addressing the problems he exposed. In our many years of experience working with whistleblowers, they are right about 95 percent of the time and Drake was an example of that. Unfortunately, companies and governments will try to go after the whistleblower instead of addressing the problems more to avoid embarrassment, loss of contracts, or judicial actions.
