TSA Whistleblower Loses Claim of Retaliation

In the federal world of being fired because of whistleblowing, the so-called Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) does not have a sterling record of siding with the claimant.  TSA whistleblower, Robert MacLean recently found this out.  MacLean, a former federal air marshal, blew the whistle on his agency for attempting to impose a serious cut back in flights carrying air marshals in order to cut costs, but increasing a security risk.  As a result of blowing the whistle on this new policy, MacLean was fired for leaking “sensitive” information that was not labeled as such.  His claim of whistleblower retaliation to the MSPB was denied even though the Board agreed MacLean was a whistleblower and was fired because of it.
